What is Blendr

As they say, Blendr is the Grindr for straight people. An app that uses geolocation to connect you with available singles in your area. It has been around long enough to have a huge member's database full of people looking for relationships and hookups.

When it comes to registration and usage, everything is pretty easy and simple. The app is completely free to download and use. The only extra thing you need to do is allow the app to use the location services on your device. You have the choice of using your Facebook account or creating manually a new one.  When you choose the desired username and password you need to answer a few questions that will let the algorithm know what you are looking for. If your profile is filled out Blendr makes sure that you get more attention than people with unfilled profiles. The profile picture is also a must. Nudity or something sexually provocative is not allowed. You can be done with the whole creation process in less than ten minutes.

When it comes to the user experience, it is about the same with any app that uses Geo-location. You always have the option to link your Blendr account with any social media platforms you use. The navigation around the app is really easy. You can go through its five main sectors, Encounters, People Nearby, Messages, Liked you and Favorites.

On the Encounters section, you can see the people that match your criteria. As with most dating apps nowadays, if both parties like each other the communication begins.

On the Nearby section, you can find people that are matched to you and they are located near to you. As you can imagine this feature works much better in densely populated areas. Of course, the app makes sure not to reveal the real position of anyone, they just give you an idea, where the potential matches can be.

On Messages section, you can see your sent and received messages. If you are already chatting with someone you can also send more pictures via this feature.

The last two sections, Liked you and Favorites will allow you to see who is interested in you and the people that you have sent a "Like".

As far as the cost, as we said in the beginning Blendr is free to download and use app. But there are some premium features and you need to pay for them if you wish to use them. If you live in a highly populated area, buying premium features might help you and give you an advantage. On the other hand, if you live in a less populated area, buying those would be a waste of money.
